I’m pretty swamped this week with the children out of school for winter break, so I’m going to share a marketing tip with you that worked for Ed Bonapartian. Here’s his letter:
Hi Angela,
I wanted to send you a quick note regarding a marketing strategy that seems to be working for me and may help other Booklocker authors market their books as well.
One of the things I have been doing to market my book is to contact the editors of newsletters that are related to the subject matter of my book or newsletters I have written articles for in the past. But, what I am also discovering is that editors of seemingly unrelated newsletters (one’s that I subscribe to on a range of different subjects) have expressed an interest in mentioning the book in their newsletters as well. An editor of a newsletter on the spiritual aspects of Aikido recently responded to my query e-mail by saying he would post a paragraph on my book in his next newsletter.
My advice to other authors would be: Don’t be afraid to send query e-mails to editors of newsletters that may not be of your specific subject – you never know what sort of personal interest the editor may have. Even if they don’t post a mention of your book, you have still made one more person aware of your book and that is always a good thing.
Strong dreams,
Ed Bonapartian
